MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WORKSHOP
Hosted personally by Neelam Harjani, founder of Inspire Yoga HK and author of ‘Secrets to
Live Stress Free’ and Wellness Ambassador. As a former investment banker, she shares anecdotes from her personal story struggling with burnout and how she used practical tools to help her re-establish her mental fortitude and inner balance. This event focuses on raising awareness of mental health, particularly around the psychological and physiological symptoms, triggers of chronic stress in an engaging and interactive format. By presenting data around overwhelm, emotional balance and the neuroscience of stress this is an opportunity to learn calming and re-energizing techniques and experience the effects first-hand together. Taking a solutions-based approach the objective of the workshop is to equip participants with practical techniques to take ownership in safeguarding their personal wellbeing.

- Notice how the idiosyncratic changes when we feel when we are stressed, highlighting restlessness in the body, catastrophizing, and social withdrawal.
- Destigmatize anxiety, normalize it’s occurrence and see it as a learning opportunity, brainstorm the key lessons: self- care, increasing awareness of triggers, comparing growth mindset to perfectionism.
- Bio hacks: the connection between body and mind. Understand the interconnection between physical, mental, and emotional health, what to look out for in terms of sleep patterns, food choices, screentime and social support.
- Experientially learn a simple calming breathing and meditation technique that can be practiced independently, feel empowered to use it and accountable for practicing calm and relaxation.
- Discuss how to foster trust, establish meaningful conversations, and provide psychological safety, learn a framework advocated by Mental Health First Aiders offering support if you see signs of struggle in others.
