As Private Yoga Teacher, It is Good to Think Always a Positive

We are in a very fortunate position. Think about all those people in the world who will be celebrating the New Year without ever having seen of fireworks, those who have to face the choice between food and education everyday, those who don’t have access to clean drinking water.

We always look for faults in ourselves, we need to realize that where we are right now is where we need to be for our own growth. It’s not a fight, it’s not a race, life should be a celebration.

I found that keeping a gratitude journal helped change my perspective and become more positive. When we train our mind to everything we should be thankful for, it’s only a matter of time before that train of thought becomes natural to us. Instead of walking into a scene, and asking ‘what’s wrong with this?’ you will turn your attention to the positive and find all the things are right and beautiful with it.

In the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, it states that one of the pre-requisites to any yoga practice, is an inner sense of contentment, ‘santosha’. As we change the habits of our body to keep a better posture and a healthier diet, it is so important that we are as conscientious about the quality of thoughts that we entertain.
